My 25th Birthday!

At the end of July I turned 25 years of age. Although I am now another year older I am happy to say that turning 25 was awesome! Roger made my Birthday very special! He got me a very cute teal wallet with 4 gift cards in it! He also bought me a cold stone ice cream cake, blinds for the house, and a nice dinner at Olive garden. Thank you baby for making my Birthday so fun! Here are a few pics from my Birthday! :)

July 4th, 2011

Every fourth of July Roger and I like to visit Idaho Falls. Roger's father and step mother live there and Idaho Falls has one of the best fireworks shows in the nation. Here are a few pics from our time in ID.

The pieces of fireworks that fell onto our families bodies during the fireworks. We sat pretty close this year and these big firework chunks were a little scary, next year we won't sit so close :)

7 inches gone!

So my hair was starting to get really long which I was really excited about, but after all of my indecisiveness between blonde and brunette and because of a bad hair cut I had no choice to but cut it off and start over again.

Here is the new do. I am excited for it to grow out again, but for the Summer it is a nice change :)

Our first house!

Roger and I have officially bought our first house (that explains the boxes in the last pic). This is a pic of our beautiful kitchen. We love our new house and can not wait to put cute little babies in the rooms upstairs! We bought this place in June, it was a great 1 year anniversary present for the two of us!

New Truck for Phish

Back in March Roger had to say goodbye to Greenlee (his old car). He bought this Ranger from my parents and hasn't looked back!

Disneyland

We went to Disneyland in March with my parents and it was an adventure to say the least! On our way into the parking lot my step dad ran over a screw that was uncovered (because a light reflector in the parking garage broke off) and very deep into the ground. We were not pleased and were delayed almost three hours getting into the park! My mom talked with the people at Disneyland and got a little mixed up on what kind of hook up we were getting for this mishap. She thought we were going to be escorted by Picnocchio to the front of finding nemo and that we were going to get in for free. Well what actually happened was we were assigned to the Picnocchio parking lot and we got to cut in front of the line at finding nemo, oh and no free admission. We had fun after the flat tire was behind us.

Its a small world

Watches, Watches, and more Watches...

I made over 200 beaded watches for the Scrapbook expo back in March. It took a lot of hard work both on my part and Roger's part. We had a good turn out and lots of positive feedback. We intend to sell at more public events in the future :)

New manager in town...

Also in March Roger found out that he was going to start training to be a manager at Applebees. He is pretty happy being able to boss people around (hehehehe). He looks so handsome and dominant in this picture! It's no surprise to me he got the job! I am so proud of him!

A November to Remember...

One very important thing we forgot to mention last November was that my Granny passed away. She was an amazing woman who we loved very much. I went back to California for her funeral and my sister and I made this collage for her. We put this up at the celebration we had for her afterwards. We love you Granny! God be with you 'til we meet again...

We haven't blogged so here's a quick recap of the past couple months. For thanksgiving we went to Nate and Jill's house. It was good. Cassie's Parents came to town to join us. On black Friday the ladies woke up early to go shopping, and at night we went to temple square to see the lights.

On December 3rd we were the MCs for the ward Christmas party. We went dressed as shown in the picture below and did really good Christmas comedy. You had to be there...

On Christmas Spoon woke up at 4 and dragged me out of bed. She was more excited than a small child. "Santa" brought me a kinect for the xbox as my big gift. For her headline gift my santa brought her an armoire for her thousands pieces of jewelery. It was our first married Christmas and it was a huge success.

We had an awesome time at our 1st annual semi bicentennial Marsha Rey Robinson Miskin family reunion. All 7 children were there along with all 18 grand children of Marsha. Louis (the eldest grand baby also known as chay chomps) got his mission call to Colombia. Olivia is the youngest grand baby at the age of 0. We didn't take any picts so I jacked some from Vanella. We had a talent show and a lot of just general hanging out, throwing the football, pounce, visiting, BBQ and water balloon ambush, guitar sing along, craft day, and kareoke (at least we tried to). One night the kids were out in the tent and the most powerful random rainstorm hit and we rushed out there to try and save them but they were soaked. We also went to a reunion at Jay's house (my mom's brother). It was a really fun weekend to have the fam all together and to see everyone.

Well this is taking forever... If you want to see all one thousand pics come over some time. But needless to say the wedding was a blast and it was good to get together with old friends and new families. Spoon and I have now been married for 2.5 weeks and we love it. It is fun.

Fun stuff this week

We had a week full of fun rad things. First of all, we both got new phones. Personal Droids that literally do everything. I thought the phone knew when Mom's birthday was when I got a text from an unknown number reminding me to call my mother. Turns out Jill got a phone and it was her but I wouldn't be surprised if my phone knew too.

Next we found an apartment in Pleasant Grove. It's the basement of a massive log cabin brand new kitchen, small and cozy up by the mountains. I'll be moving in April 24th and Spoon will move in after the honeymoon :)

On Saturday I went to the festival of colors in Spanish Fork. Cassie had to work :( but I had a really good time.

There were thousands of people there. We all threw colored chalk at each other, it was epic.

On Tuesday Cassie got a rare day off so we decided to go register for our wedding.

Spoon of course had complete control of the barcode gun at all times... ;)

This is a picture of me waiting for Spoon at the SLC airport. She went to California over valentines weekend to do some wedding planning. I told her she can never give me crap for missing an anniversary, birthday, christmas, valentines day, or any other special occasion since she missed this one. One lady at the airport was approaching me from behind to come see my sign to check if I was her ride or not. She was so weirded out when it was a spoon sign. Spoon arrived and cried then we ate at Olive Garden in SL, it was good.

Diploma

I got my diploma in the mail today. It felt so good. I cried. Well just a little... maybe. After years of sweat and hard work, all nighters, huge papers, tests and classes I got this piece of paper.

So are we! We became engaged on Christmas morning and the above picture is worth the 1000 words that I was going to write. It was awesome. We will be wed on June 5th in the San Diego Temple.

Here is the bling in partial glory but you should really see it in person. Spoon is so spoiled (Alliteration).

Cassie's Mother made us an engagement cake and a BYU cake because I graduated. They tasted as good as they looked.

We had party and we did a toast with sparkling cider.

Thought I'd let my beard grow out a bit. After 24 years of either not being able to or not being allowed to, it feels so rad. And mine is said to be better than Nate's, in some circles. Oh yea, I graduated from BYU, I got a bachelors degree in Latin American Studies. And no, I don't know what I'm going to do with it, but it sure feels good to be done. I am sleeping a lot these days to make up for the past years of staying up all night writing papers.

Spoon and I have a tradition of picking all the NFL games each week. Last year she won 131-77 to 127-81. I am winning so far this year 75-41 to 71-45. Spoon's mom has a pool at work and she asks us for advice. With our help she won last week so she mailed us a gift card to Chilies!!! Here are our picks this week for those who are interested.

As you can all tell, we are terrible bloggers. Well we are good at it, but we just never do it. For Old Hallows Eve Spoon was a very cute tiny little miniature Snow White, and I was a Mexican. We went to Nate and Jill's house to hang and and at night we went to a party.

About a week earlier we carved some awesome Jack-o-lanterns, mine is the mummy, and the witch is the handy work of Spoon. They are real even though they don't look like Jack-o-lanterns. I know the witch looks like the better of the two but mine is truly cooler.

Last week I had a couple of days off and so did phish! It was awesome! On thursday we went to a party with some of phish's work peeps and played this washer game. To my enjoyment and Phish's disappointment I was better at that game then him, the only other game I am better at then him is Mario Kart! (TMI!!!!) Friday Phish and I had a very long day together which is rare so I was happy! We went to BK, then we saw Year One, OMG!!!! That movie was awful do not go see it! The only funny parts were what they show you on the previews and it had weird stuff going on, so stay away from that movie. :) That night I made dinner and then we went to target, we had fun shopping! Phish said that I have converted him to Target because of the target brand lucky charms he got for less than two bucks that taste exactly the same as the real four dollar lucky charms! Pretty sweet! So yeah that is what's new with us, nothing too funny since we do not have babies our blog is just about us and our very exciting life in sunny, warm, Utah ( I am rolling my eyes as I am typing this)! I post on this thing very less often then I should! hahaha (inside joke). (TMI) Next post to look forward to is July 4th in Idaho, where Phish's dad and Gweenie live! Crazy Table

As you all know I work at Applebee's and after you serve 2 years worth of tables you're bound to get some weirdies in there. So from time to time, when I have time, and when I deem it appropriate I shall share some of my experiences here, via blog. No pictures this time, but the story should be able to hold ones attention. Not to mention I didn't want to ask for a picture with them after what happened.

So I approach these two "asian" women at my table and get their drink order, they had a 1 year old baby girl with them. As I am leaving one of the ladies said "can we have 5 spoons" I'm thinking... there are 2 of you and a baby...why would you ever need 5 spoons. So i give a weird but playful friendly look and she says, the baby likes to play with them. I agree to get the 5 spoons. I'm thinking a baby can play with one spoon... the baby's not gonna get all mad like, where are my other 4 spoons? So i get the "5 spoons" for them. I deliver the food and the lady wants a bunch of stuff (pretty standard) and at the end of the list of things she needs she throws on, "and 5 more spoons" And I laughed out loud at her. Then I asked "what did you do with the other 5?" which may not have been the best move. The lady now all offended and hurt, "she dropped them on the floor so she needs more" I gave an annoyed smile and walked away. I couldn't believe it. I asked all the other servers if I was the crazy one or was it not weird that a lady wanted 5 spoons, twice. So many things i wanted to say like, if the baby dropped all 5 spoons, then clearly she doesn't want to play with them. Or, if I have provided 5 toys for your baby, can't you make sure all 5 don't hit the floor. Like when she drops the first 4 make sure she holds on to the last one or she's out of luck. Also why 5 each time? Why not use the word "some". Can i have some spoons or a few more spoons? How about just one spoon? And how about even bringing a toy or a favorite spoon from home? I dropped off all the things she requested except the spoons and started to walk away and she said..."the spoons, now!" hahahahaha (i got them 5 more spoons)

She ends up talking to the Manager and I am removed as their server. As she's talking to the manager I see her waving 1 (not 5) spoons in the baby's face and the baby starts twisting her head away from the spoon with an annoyed look on her face. She was trying to prove to the manager that her baby liked spoons, her baby didn't. Not to mention the baby was quiet and well behaved the whole time. I can understand if the baby was bawling and they wanted to try to appease her. However both before she had spoons, and after the spoons were contaminated by the ground and thus taken away the baby couldn't have cared less.

The manager told me that she said I was racist against asians. hahahaha that's the last thing I thought she would say. No matter the "race" of the person asking for 5 spoons twice I would have reacted the same way. Not to mention I put "asian" in quotes earlier because I thought they were "white". I guess a better server would have just gotten the 5 spoons, twice, or three times or however many multiples of 5 spoons the lady wanted, but I just couldn't do it. And yes, I know she probably thought i was accusing her of stealing when i asked what she did with the first 5 but I felt it was a reasonable question. (actually I didn't find all 10 spoons when I cleaned the table)

California!!!

We just got back from California and it was so good. We left on Thursday night at about 8pm and drove all night. It was a very long drive. We arrived in Hemet at about 6am. On friday we slept most the day away and when Spoons parents got off they took us to dinner.

On Saturday Spoon's parents took us to a "day" spa in Palm Springs where the rich folk live. we each got a 25 minute massage, well Spoon got some extra time... weird. I tried to ask the guy what I was supposed to wear to my massage and he said do what you gotta do. Luckily I guessed right and kept my trunks on. It felt pretty good and kinda hurt. It was very relaxing.

Monday we hit up the beach in Carlsbad. It was slightly overcast but still enjoyable. I got in the waves and jumped and laughed like little kid while Spoon searched for seashells and "got a tan". I wanted to try surfing but didn't think of it till it was too late.

On Tuesday we went to Hollywood to see the Stars. We didn't see any except for the ones on the sidewalk. We also went to a wax museum, some of the celebrities looked real. We drove through Beverly Hills and saw where some famous people lived. LA is kinda dirty but there were some huge homes.

I woke up one morning with a swollen upper lip and my tooth hurt like crazy. Last year when we were in Hemet I had a tooth crack and it had to be pulled. This year I when to the same dentist (a friend of Spoon's in Hemet) And he did some work. We looked at the receipt and it sad my last two visits. MAy-13-2009 and May 13-2008! We already scheduled an appointment for May-13-2010. :)

We then spent a few days with Spoon's dad and Grannie. We played games with them and went swimming a few times.

We said goodbye to everyone on Saturday and drove all night. We were spoiled and pampered as royalty would be :) It was a lot of fun.

I only had to work 2 and half days this week! It was so nice! Monday we went to the Jazz/Clipper's game and the Jazz won!!!!! Woot....Woot!Roger had a final saturday, and this monday he will be done with winter semester and he will officially only have 1 semester left of college!!!!! I had a lot of time to play with Whitney, Aubrye, and Jenna! It was so fun seeing Whitney and Allen's baby Riley! Thursday we got to see the babies!Friday Phish and I saw He's just not that into you, and on saturday I made lunch for phish, took a nap, and saw 17 again with Whitney ! Such a fun weekend so far! But whether it continues to be great is all up to the Jazz tomorrow! The playoff's are here and we are super excited!!!!!!! :)

Spoon's posts will be in brown and I will be some other color. Although we do a lot together she is at work all day long and when she gets off I usually am just leaving for work. So we have a lot of time apart as well. Just finished my last final this morning. No more school till September. Wake me up when September starts...Such an awesome sunny day for a change. Zea and I played tennis at UVU. I beat her... Gotta go beat Nate at basketball for our weekly game. I am very excited for summer and have a lot on my platter. First on the docket is a duel with a coworker of mine. I am going to go sword fight him in a park. Should be funny and painful. That is on April 30th. There will be a video post of the duel soon there after. Applebee's has an acoustic night and later this week I will be playing a couple of songs. I have a lot of other important goals but maybe I should wait till I do this stuff and then write about it... yea, I'm gonna do that.

Eye patch

Phish and Spoon have been together for 1 year! We met at Applebees where Phish works. Phish asked for my number before my friend and I had left. I never expected him to call, but the next day he did. We went out the next week and we have been together ever since. We have had so much fun together! We have been to about ten different states in the Western United States. We love watching NBA and NFL games! We are both huge fans of the Utah Jazz! This is our first blog we have ever had so I am sure a lot of things will be changing cuz we are not sure how to do this? :)

How Phish and Spoon got their nicknames:

Spoon:
One night we were playing games with our friends and someone had said that I looked like Reese Witherspoon. So then he shortened her last name and Spoon has stuck ever since.

Phish:
A few weeks after he had made up my nickname he was asking me why I had not made up a nick name for him. So I said your nickname is Phish, he asked why and I told him because it was the last part of selfish, hahaha.
